The Namdroling Monastery, popularly referred to as ‘The Golden Temple’ is one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India. Located in Bylakuppe, about 5 kms from Kushalanagara in Kodagu district, The Golden Temple complex is home to about 16000 refugees and 600 monks .

Namdroling Monastery’s main entrance is an attractive four story tower with a wheel portraying symbols of Buddhism. The main attractions inside the temple are the statues of Lord Buddha in the centre with statues of Lord Amitayus and Lord Padmasambhava on either sides. Visitors can pray, meditate, give their offerings and rotate the mani prayer drums. Rotating these prayer drums is believed to give the same benefit as chanting “Om Mani Padme Hum”, the Buddhist prayer.

Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Shakti located in Kateel, Karnataka. The Temple is situated on an islet formed naturally in the middle of the river Nandini. The town of Kateel lies 29 km from Mangalore city center and is considered as one of the holiest temple towns in India. The legend behind the origin of the Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple is mentioned in sources like Markandeya Purana. The Sahyadrikanda of the Skanda Purana also relates to the legends. Sri Nirjararanya Mahatmayam and in Devi Bhagavatha Mahatmayam are two more sources for the legends related to the temple.

Sri Krishna Temple in Udupi is an important pilgrimage site in South India. Thousands of devotees throng this temple town to offer prayers to Lord Krishna. It is said that the Krishna idol here is the most beautiful idol of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna is depicted here as a small boy (Balakrishna). The idol is not seen directly, but through a 9 holed window called the Navagraha Kitiki. Udupi is referred to as ‘Mathura (birthplace of Lord Sri Krishna, situated in Uttar Pradesh state) of South India. Udupi Sri Krishna temple and Matha (Monastery) were set up by Sri Madhwacharya (popular Vaishnava Saint) during the 13th century.

Kanakana Kindi: A small window through which Lord Krishna is believed to have given darshan to his ardent devotee, saint Kanakadasa. According to legend, Kanakadasa was of a low caste and was not allowed entry to the temple. Undaunted, he went behind the temple and prayed to the Lord through a small crack in the wall. Pleased, the statue of Lord Krishna turned around and gave him darshan. Just adjacent is the Kanakadasa Mantapa, which houses a statue of the saint.

Sri Mookambika Temple in Kollur, Udupi district attracts devotees from all parts of South India. The village of Kollur lies amid the green canopy of the Western Ghats, on the base of Kodachadri Hill. Here, the Mookambika Temple, one of the seven most sacred spots of Salvation, is dedicated to the Goddess of emotional power and strength. The temple has a gold plated crest and copper roofs. Adi Shankaracharya, the great philosopher, is said to have visited this temple to perform penance. Adi Shankaracharya is also believed to have consecrated the idol of Goddess Mookambika.

After the temple visit leave to udupi.

Reach Udupi sri krishna temple and take blessings.

You can either choose to have Dinner at Hotel or have Prasada (Dinner) from the temple.

After a wonderful day spent and completing dinner come back to hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Today start early towards Kolluru.

Reach Kolluru and have breakfast with coastal Karnataka authenticity.

After breakfast visit to Kolluru mookambika temple.

Take darshana of god mookambika and get blessed.

You can either choose to have Lunch at Hotel or have Prasada (Lunch) from the temple.

After lunch, leave towards beluru temple.

Now its time to visit and witness world famous architectural wonder temple of Belur.

Leave Belur temple and continue journey towards Mysuru via Hassan city .

Have tea and snacks at Hassan, Reach back to Mysuru with loads of memories and blessings received.
